The Pride of the Dutchmen Marching Band represents MOC-Floyd Valley High School in Orange City, Iowa. The band competes regionally in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, and South Dakota. The band is a four-time Bands of America Regional Championship Finalist and was the Bands of America Iowa Regional Class 1A Champion in 2022 and 2024. The band has performed in numerous local and national parades, including the Hollywood Christmas Parade and Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland in 2024, Universal Studios Florida and Disney’s Magic Kingdom in 2021, the Hollywood Christmas Parade in 2016, and has made two appearances at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, in 2013 and 1993. Each year, the Pride of the Dutchmen Marching Band marches at the Orange City Tulip Festival Parades held in May.
The MOC-Floyd Valley High School band program includes the marching band, along with two concert bands, three jazz ensembles, and the Pride of the Dutchmen Pep Band. Support for the program comes from the MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District, the MOC-Floyd Valley Band Boosters, and the Pride of the Dutchmen Band Parent Organization.
Each fall the Pride of the Dutchmen Marching Band hosts the Dutchmen Field Championship, a field marching competition hosting bands from Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Registration and other information on Dutchmen Field Championship can be found here.

Bands of America (BOA)
At Bands of America events, classification is based on total school enrollment in grades 10–12. Bands report enrollment when applying, and BOA assigns class accordingly.
MOC-Floyd Valley competes in Class 1A at Bands of America events.
BOA Classification Breakdown:
- Class 1A: 600 students and fewer
- Class 2A: 601–1250 students
- Class 3A: 1251–1750 students
- Class 4A: 1751 students and above
Iowa High School Music Association (IHSMA)
In Iowa, bands are classified based on the IHSAA/IGHSAU school enrollment classifications, which are determined by the total high school enrollment in grades 9–11 of the prior school year. These classifications apply to concert, jazz, and marching events sanctioned by IHSMA.
MOC-Floyd Valley is classified as a Class 3A high school.
